Bryn Mawr College
Accession Number: Deanery.413
Geography: Classification:
Furnishings and Furniture; Furniture
Collection: Deanery Collection

This small teakwood plant stand has a diamond-shaped top and is elaborately inlaid with mother-of-pearl. It was used in M. Carey Thomas’s study, the Blue Room, as early as 1954. The stand has been tentatively ascribed to Lockwood de Forest, who designed the Japanese-themed study for Thomas in 1896, but this attribution is uncertain.
