Description: Light in this scene is used to make a distinction between public and private space. Once the light is turned out, the room will be in darkness as the public (the gazing viewer) is removed from the privacy of this couple’s bedroom. It is important to note that it is the female figure that is given the agency to turn off the light and usher in the return of seclusion to the space.
