There are four labels either tied or placed on the mask. The first label is a white square paper label tied to the mask reading: Yoruba Face Mask Neufield No. 54 Sothebys No. 131 99-3-89. The second label is a small circular paper label reading 54. The third label is a gold metal label. On the front it reads: Sotheby''s 131 Founded 1744. On the back, the label reads: 5933. The final label is a small circlular white paper adhesive label placed inside of the object. This label reads: 77-19.
