Gold Camelid wool weft .5mm in diameter and S(2Z) spin/ply. Strips of red wrap tapestry with geometric rows of design in white, yellow, brown, black, in compliments. Star design similar to 2007.1.14. Inca, Late Horizon and within that Chuquibamba style. The 8 pointed star is associated with the Andean highlands. There are many different interpretations on the meaning of the 8 pointed star. Some say they are sun figures, others say they relate to a calendar that has approximately 27 days per month based on solar positioning of the stars. The design is not identical to .c and .b, however, that degree of matching would not have been common then as it is now. The red is likely cochineal and so this is likely a South Central Andean Highlands Textile. ", "Dedication" : "Gift of Ward M.
