The figurine is made of a cut-out piece of hammered bronze. the edges of the figure have been filed down from both sides. Details punched into the figure include two circular eyes, a straight mouth, two circular breasts, two vertical lines on the lower part of each arm, and a circular navel. One punch was used for the eyes, breasts, and navel, while another made the mouth and the marks on the arms, which perhaps represent bracelets. The head is pointed at the tip and swells to a greater thickness than the body. The arms are extended from the body at an angle of about 30 degrees below the horizontal. The legs are apart. The figure is draped since the space between the legs if U- rather then V-shaped. Maximum preserved ht. ca. 18 cm. The moulded face is highly polished. There are seven mouldings in a continuous sequence. Starting with the outermost projection there are a cyma recta, a large fascia, a small fascia, an ovolo, a large fascia which curves outward at its base, a small fascia, and a large ovolo. The back face of the block has been smoothed and a longitudinal band has even been polished. In this band is one completely preserved cutting and a second cutting half of which is missing. the first cutting measure ca. 3.5 x 2.0 cm. at the surface and is ca. 2.8 cm. deep. Its area shrinks the deeper it goes into the stone. A channel, U-shaped in section, leading to one of its long sides is preserved for a length of ca. 3.5 cm. and is 0.9 cm. deep. The second cuttting appears to have been nearly identical with the first. It is a little deeper, ca. 3.2 cm. The upper body, shoulder, and neck are decorated with painted bands of varying widths. /This shape is extremely common in the Near East and North Africa for over one thousand years. The circumstances of its probable provenance suggest that it is North African in manufacture.
