William Morris Gallery caption: "Kelmscott Church (St. George's) was a parish church from late 12th century, with additions through the 16th century. It was spared Victorian renovation through Morris' intervention and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. This view is taken from the northwest and shows a 13th century north aisle and transept. Just six months after Evans took this photograph, Morris was buried on October 6, 1896 in the southeast corner of the churchyard." It had been Morris who originally suggested the series to Evans, but he did not live to see its completion.", "Dedication" : "Gift of Mary Peirce, Class of 1912", "Copyright_Type" : "", "Disp_Obj_Type" : "British", "Creation_Place2" : "England", "Department" : "Fine Arts", "Obj_Name" : "photograph", "Period" : "", "Style" : "", "Edition" : "", "Curator" : "", "Images": [ { "ImagePath" : "https://triarte.brynmawr.edu/Media/images/2009.15.25_BMC_f_2.jpg", "ThumbnailPath" : "https://triarte.brynmawr.edu/Media/Thumbnails/2009.15.25_BMC_f_2.jpg", "PreviewPath" : "https://triarte.brynmawr.edu/Media/Previews/2009.15.25_BMC_f_2.jpg", "IIIF_URL": "http://iiif.gallerysystems.com/2009.15.25_BMC_f_2.jpg", "IsPrimary" : "1", "_SurrogateID" : "19972", "Image_Type" : "", "Photo_Credit" : "", "Remarks" : "", "View" : "" } , ] }, ] }
