Only the lower part of it is preserved, consisting of several petals flaring downward from the center, painted red and black against white ground. A tiny fragment of the zone below the band also remains, showing the same white background. An almost identical piece was found at Gordion and published in Glendinnig (See bibliography) as part of a raking sima. Glendinning (See bibliography: p.94, 97) states that very similar examples can be found in Sardis c. 550 BCE, as well as Miletus, and that this particular roofing design was used in the 6th C BCE. Glendinning (See bibliography: p. 94, 97) also concludes that the similar design and construction technique of the Gordion raking sima tiles with those of Sardis, the capitol of the Lydians, lends support to the idea that after the fall of the Phrygian kingdom, Lydia exerted a strong influence over Gordion.
